So the first game in this series was my favorite current generation title.
Even with all its flaws I loved the storyline and the cinematic storytelling.

Well the 2nd one is out, and it looks downright incredible.

Check it out.

THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLE.

The level design is like at least 2X better then the first game.
Everything is more interesting and eye catching.

The combat can get VERY intense, some people play it pure Gears of War style, where they just hide behind walls all day.
But if you are the vanguard you can rush opponents from across the battlefield instantly. A huge tactical move.
If you use all your powers, the combat is so much fun.
At any time you can press shift, and pause the game to either catch your breath, or use a spell/ability.
Though ability's can be hotkeyed, I enjoy pausing the game to choose them

The storyline is okay, its more character centric this time around. You are building a team of the best of the best basically..
It got epic at times, but its clear that the 3rd game is where the epic-ness will really come in.

You can lose every member of your party, and I think up to 4 can die in a single game profile.
Which is interesting because in the 3rd game, they will no longer exist to tell their story.

Anyway, I highly recommend it, its very good.

I will have to get this game at some point - I found that I really enjoyed ME1.

My girlfriend and I have a very good game/present policy. We only really buy at birthdays and christmas. And then we buy old games - the ones you can get cheap. Games come down pretty quick nowadays. I'm currently playing through Banjo Kazooie N&B - great game, and she'll only have paid something like £10 for it (compared to £40-£50 on release). So I'll probably get this this coming Christmas (got way too many games to play in the meantime).

In any case, I did enjoy ME1. My guy, Victor Shephard, was completely dedicated to his mission. The base on the moon wants me to help? Sorry, tracking down evil space squid things. You want me to smuggle something so you'll tell me info? I'll pretend I'm doing what you want to get the info then grass you up to the cops. You want my autograph? I'll drink your blood! BLOOD!!!

*ahem*

Needless to say I blitzed through the game in 12 hours. The only reprieve was when blue chick decided to get naked and fart out pink gas. Hilarious.

Wooow, you beat the game in half the time it took me. O_O

Mass Effect 2 just feels better in every way. Combat intensified alot.
But it is shorter. I think I beat it in 13 hours.
