Yay :)
Right, this has always bothered me. On Fast Reply, at the top of the entry box, you have those icons. If I hover over them, they glow a little, but I've never been able to expand, and this has happened on four different computers and my Wii. HALP ;_; |

The buttons don't work because the forum software is an absolute piece of ####.

Oh, awesome. It's not just me.
Cheers guys. Oo I think we should all do a Grandia playthrough. Like... get up to a certain part each fortnight and discuss for a couple of nights, rinse repeat. |

The enemies are nice to fight if you want their drops, but otherwise you should totally ignore them. They drop a multitude of seeds and fruit, in case you were interested.
Run from every battle you can. Watch enemy patterns and wait for the right time to advance. The way I do the ToT, I don't see a single battle until the bosses, if I do it right. The actual puzzles in the dungeon are also pretty tough, but once you figure out the layout of each room, floor and how they connect, it's easy. There are two "rest stops" on the way up; basically shortcuts from one portion of the tower to the next. I suggest you make finding those your priority, as it will make clearing items out of the tower easier. There are many enemy groups which have spells or attacks that can level your party outright. Spells to watch out for include BA-BOOM! and Howlnado. When you see those, cancel them immediately. I also suggest using one type of attack (SP or MP) on the first two bosses. SP is good for the Gargoyle, and MP-based attacks work nicely on the Slug Fish. After those two battles, heal everyone, use the MP and SP recovery items you got as drops from the two bosses and go into the fight with Leviathon is as best a condition as you can manage. He's not difficult at decent levels, but if you are there with Milda or Guido you are likely going to have a lot of trouble. The three bosses actually have some blind spots or field position tricks you can abuse; they're all enemy types you've seen before, so remember what you did last time. ALWAYS make sure you have a lot of item slots open; when you get to the top of the tower there is no stash, and there are an upwards of eight or ten truly amazing pieces of gear up there. This includes the Astral and Ethereal Miracles. uh ... ... but yeah, the ToT can take a while if you try clearing it out on the way up. |

Oh.. lol
I thought you just had to be that strong to beat it. The enemies are just unfairly strong. |

Oh, and you should keep in mind the area right outside the tower with the Gaia Moths and Gaia Birds.
Those enemies will give you ridiculous amounts of weapon/magic EXP for any wide-ranged hits... best enjoyed with the miracles, of course. |

I prefer SMF, myself.
It's easy, extensible, works great and has a lot of support. Plus, it just genuinely looks good. |

I wish someone would do a map of the TOT ^_^
Like on the visual walkthrough of Grandia (linked on Feena's Grandia Sanctuary) I can't figure out the puzzle on the first floor even though I got passed it a very long time ago, should I go with the "ZERO" weapons or go with my most powerful ones? Any advice appreciated, and the previous advice is now embedded in my Military Forces Brain XD Current Location: New Parm (Just Arrived) Justin Level: 8 Sue Level: 7 Feena Level 7 So I'm quite a bit away for now xD I just started a playthough a week ago ! Unbalanced I know looks like I'll have to battle with justin KO'd for a time to let the others' catch up xP I talk to everyone and town and beat the monsters in every area at least twice ! xD (More of Chron's Advice I believe) I think a all-out playthrough is a good idea, then we can discuss the game better. No matter how many times I play GRANDIA i always find something new i didn't notice the time before ! XD This post has been edited by Colonel_Mullen: Oct 10 2009, 03:37 AM |

Alundra is an awesome game. RELEASER, I SHALL FEAST ON YOUR BONES.
Yeah. Anyway, Mullen. Going through every area twice is a little overkill. It's best to find enemies that give good weapon/magic EXP and come in large groups (early in the game, snakes and the big birds; over the wall you want plague mold; second disc has a multitude, like Zil Scorpions and most of the Gaia-class enemies). You just hit them with the widest range, lowest MP offensive you have for that skill, and have other people use diggin or such and just sit there and expend all of your MP on a single battle. I'm currently at Zil Desert annoying the hell out of the Zil Scorpions. My game keeps crashing but it does seem to be working (Rapp has very nice magic spells already... especially since the man can use Def-Loss... no Freeze! tho... pity). I really should start playing my newer game. Low-level challenge and all... but I feel like I have to powerlevel this one to make up for it. |

Is it just me, or is the forum a lot faster now that it's being hosted somewhere other than gamespy. Pages seem to load in about a second, which is pretty decent.

Man, it has been way too long since I've seen you. Or your cakes. I'm honestly not sure if I'm happy about that last bit. |

Welcome back Kenny ! It's great to see you again, and apart from the 404 Mail Error, this site is like lightning !
I'm really enjoying the new forums. I think the admins / mods deserve a cheer for getting everything moved smoothly. Thanks mods !!!! This post has been edited by Colonel_Mullen: Mar 6 2010, 09:33 AM |

In real life I've actually started making cookies. They're not like any other cookies you can imagine though. I've nicknamed them "Splats" simply because the mixture sticks too much to my hands so I've got to literally throw them off. White and milk chocolate chips and they're gooey as anything, especially just out of the oven. And just out of the oven they taste heavenly.
Unfortunately I very rarely make them, simply because of the huge sugar content. |
